I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ritual Acupuncture!! For the first time, in a long time, my pain was not agonizing. I had more mental clarity, and improved blood flow. Sadly, I had to take a break because I live too far from their office. From the front desk all the way to Dr. Joel, the team at Ritual Acupuncture have been nothing short of AMAZING! From my first visit, I walked in not knowing what to expect but Dr. Joel sat with me for a good 20 min or so talking with me to really understand my goals and what I was trying to achieve with my IVF journey before we began anything else. He explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. He made me feel comfortable and excited for my acupuncture journey and how it would help me. I’ve been going in since august 2023 consistently at least once to twice a week and it has benefited me greatly. I feel so relaxed afterwords and have noticed a great difference within myself physically, mentally and emotionally. I know that has to do with the acupuncture and massages I’ve been getting. I’ve also had fertility massages with Ben to help prep me for my IVF transfer and he was great as well explaining the benefits and how it is going to help me. Staff members were very kind and helpful. Dr. Novella and Dr. Joel are knowledgeable and actually care about their patients and their goals. Dr. Joel is my husband’s primary care. Update: I’ve been seeing dr Joel for acupuncture and it’s been life changing. Ritual acupuncture is the best. The staff are always kind and friendly. They seem like they really care. I feel they are an important part of your care team when dealing with chronic pain. My pain has gone from a 10 to a 5 and I’ve only had a few sessions. I will continue to work with them as well as modify to a healthier lifestyle so I can fully reap the benefits. This is the place to go!I had an amazing massage and cupping session with Ben. He was so nice and I felt relief I hadn’t felt in YEARS! He was very thorough and explained how connected the body is and how to help get it back balanced.I even felt calmer since my pain was less. I will be going back definitely

I started going to Ritual at the beginning of 2023 for endometriosis and fertility support, and Im so glad I did. The atmosphere is super peaceful and the staff are hella friendly. Novella and Joel are amazing at what they do. Novellas acupuncture touch is healing and soft. She gives off a very nurturing and caring vibe that would immediately relax me. Joel is a pro at fertility, and I was starting to feel like my endo symptoms were lessening each month. I always enjoy the conversations I had with Joel whether it was about him advocating for endo patients, or even about our local restaurants!Much to my surprise, I got pregnant a few months after starting acupuncture, and both Novella and Joel supported me with my first trimester symptoms (nausea, headaches, fatigue and heartburn) and I honestly believe they made the early stages of my pregnancy much easier for me. Joel even knew I was pregnant before I did just by checking my pulse! Im soo grateful to the Ritual family and highly recommend them to anyone with whatever ailments they may have! Dr. Joel is the best physician I’ve ever had!! He listens to my concerns and dedicates time to alleviate and cure my ailments. I absolutely love Joel, Ben and Novella! I have been going to Ritual now for nearly three years and they are Vallejo’s secret sanctuary of healing! Joel used his magic to help me get pregnant with my second and I see him regularly for all healing needs, Ben is a great listener and provides prescriptive aftercare exercises for home, and I just saw Novella for the first time and she gifted me with an incredibly healing emotional release I didn’t realize my body badly needed! Love them all and am sad I’ll be moving farther from them soon but will be back to visit as much as I can!

Dr. Joel and staff are amazing! He really knows his work and healed my pain from a 100% painful injury down to 30% in just 4 sessions!!!(still doing treatments) I love him! Hes great and very personable. He really checks the area first and finds where he needs to put the needles and how deep to put them. Hes very thorough and does his assessments well. I went to Ritual accupuncture for my backpain. Novella was great in 3 mos time i dont feel any pain. I had good night sleeps too. 2023 i was not able to go back due to toght sched.But as of writing I’m checking when to schedule another visit with them. Starting 2024 with wellness and good health with Ritual Accupuncture.

I have been going to Ritual Acupuncture for a few years and LOVE it! The staff is warm and welcoming and seem to genuinely care about how you are doing. Joel is amazing, he goes to great lengths to make sure that he is providing you with the best health care possible. He collaborates with my traditional doctors and has created a wonderful treatment plan for me. The most important thing is that-IT IS WORKING! I feel so much better and am taking 75% less medicine than I was taking with just traditional western medical care. I also see Benn for massage and it is wonderful. Ritual Acupuncture Clinic has been an answered prayer! My teenage daughter had been very sick and suffering from life altering pain for almost four years before we saw Dr. Joel. She had debilitating migraines and severe hormonal issues that caused her extraordinary back and stomach pain. Most days she could not leave bed and simply cried.We both felt extremely hopeless when Stanford and UCSF pediatric pain clinics were unable to help or reduce her pain at all (not even a little bit). What finally made a difference was acupuncture and other eastern medicine treatments offered by Dr. Joel at Ritual Acupuncture Clinic.The quality of care that she received, paired with how knowledgeable Dr. Joel is made a huge difference! I was amazed at how quickly she began to improve, and we are both so incredibly grateful for this! Her headaches are not as severe and are also shorter as well as less frequent. Her back and stomach pain have also been greatly reduced. Additionally, the overwhelming nausea she used to have every day has also improved dramatically. With the help of Dr. Joel we were also thankfully able to get her off of Depo. injections which were causing her hair to fall out. Her pain associated with her cycle has also greatly improved, and I know it’s just going to keep improving. Going to see Dr. Joel was the beginning for healing and a lot less pain for my child. The clinic is in a safe location with lots of parking, it is also very clean, as well as comfortable and serene. I trust this establishment with the health of my child, and feel that bringing her here is in her best interest. Dr. Joel genuinely cares and takes the time to actually help and makes a difference. This place is Awesome!!!!!. Walking into Ritual Acupuncture is an experience you will never forget. the environment is soothing music, the sweet aroma smell of burning incense is welcoming and warming relaxing to my spirit. The staff is kind and patient. Dr. Joel is Excellent he listens to me about my pain and does his best to give me the treatment and care to relieve my pain from my sciatica pinched nerve, arthritis, and degeneration if my lower lumbar spine. I always leave Ritual Acupuncture feeling painless, rejuvenated, and well treated.

This is a very caring and knowledgeable acupuncture group. Dr. Joel Moncada has helped me recover from the effects of surgery/chemo/radiation for oral cancer. His thoughtful expertise is increasing my energy and balancing my body functions, although I still need improvement in swallowing.... though that may happen. Acupuncture does not seem to be a quick fix, but a slow steady increase toward wellness. The entire staff is warm and welcoming and makes it a safe place to heal.

Ben has magic hands! Every time I go in I feel brand new. If you have trouble areas he will work them and also provide exercises that will help them improve in between sessions. Everyone at Ritual Acupuncture is so amazing!

First and foremost, this is such a long and overdue review but definitely worth reading!!! I initially started coming to see Dr. Joel for acupuncture regarding my menstrual cycle and fertility concerns. A little backstory: I had some concerns with my menstrual cycle (short and scanty) and I knew my body was off since I never had issues before. In addition, my hubby & I started trying to conceive for a year and nothing happened. I was a bit taken back by all this, considering I was only 27 and healthy. I decided to take an holistic approach to help with my menstrual cycle and our fertility journey. I started seeing Dr. Joel February 2019 (Valentines Day week) a couple times a week and the rest is history!! I ended up finding out I was pregnant around February 25th and I 100% believe this was because of Dr. Joel. Dr. Joel is hands down the best doctor I have ever worked with and I wish he was my primary physician lol. He actively listens to your needs and genuinely cares about his patients. His personality is awesome and he gives off such amazing vibes. Also, I cant forget about his staff because they are all a reflection of him and amazing as well! Ritual Acupuncture is beyond amazing and I cant wait to come back when we start planning for baby numba TWO!!! 😍

Dr. Joel and his staff were saviors to me during one of the hardest times in my life. One week after my son was born, I came down with a case of Bells Palsy. I heard acupuncture played a part in successful recovery, so I contacted them and they immediately allowed me to come in. While I only had 1/2 of my face working, everyone was kind, and they all worked together to help me heal. Dr. Joel was very proactive, and I started to see facial progress after 2 weeks from onset (and after only a few treatments from him!). I continued to work with them and now I can say that my face is almost fully recovered. Would highly recommend them to anyone seeking acupuncture.

I usually fall asleep during my treatment at some point and I ALWAYS feel better when I leave. FABULOUS way to relieve my muscle pain and tendonitis!I am a certified massage therapist and I send my clients to Joel and his staff all the time! This review is way overdue! If I could give them 10 stars ✨ I would. First off Dr. Joel and his amazing team Ben, Paige & Aleah are like family. This little gem is my zen away from home! I have been seeing Dr. Joel for over a year now. I have “un-known fertility issues” my husband and I have been trying to have a baby for almost 3 years now. Dr. Joel, is extremely knowledgeable, patient, hilarious and is not afraid to try new things based on the patients individual needs. This last year we started IVF treatments. My treatment plans have helped with my stress, follicle growth, egg quality, stubborn cysts, blood flow and maintaining a normal period. My first IVF cycle did not work and Dr. Joel did not give up, he worked his magic and went an entire different approach. I just had my 2nd IVF treatment last month & I am so happy & blessed to say I am PREGNANT 👶🏽❤️ 🌈 with my first little miracle baby! I owe this success to Dr. Joel. He helped with this miracle. I would highly recommend Ritual Acupuncture for those going through fertility issues! You won’t regret it. My little rainbow at the end of my 3 year storm has finally arrived!

After decades of severe headaches, GI tract issues, and back pain, my husband finally found consistent relief in acupuncture treatments from Dr. Joel, including acupuncture needles, moxibustion, and cupping. I saw Dr. Joel every other week throughout my entire pregnancy, during which I found out I may have an autoimmune clotting disorder, and went on to have a healthy gestation period and a very smooth and quick homebirth. We cannot recommend this practitioner more highly. Not only does he provide healing and relief when so many other approaches have failed or instilled fear/pills/injections, but his practice is one of conviviality, deep listening, and compassion. We also very much appreciate that he has managed to get Medi-Cal to cover his treatments. And my UC insurance covered my treatments with a small co-pay. Ethically and medically, Dr. Joel is a gifted healer who understands the embodied impacts of structural oppression and goes above and beyond the medical model of care, treating a wide range of clients with respect and reverence. We drove an hour to Vallejo twice a month without even thinking about it and cannot recommend Dr. Joel and his staff highly enough.

As soon as you walk in youre greeted by friendly people. I thought it would hurt, and the first one did but they immediately switched to a smaller sterile needle. They do everything to make you comfortable and after leaving there I was always relaxed and calm, no matter how stressed I was from work or life in general. I highly recommend Novella and her crew.

I love Dr.. Joel and his staff!! The very first time I went there I went for lower back and sciatic pain. I had no idea acupuncture would help me in many more ways then that. Every morning when I woke up I felt like my spine was compressing and it was very difficult for me to walk. I was an extreme pain. After my very first session the compression was gone. I remember on our way home I saw an old lady pushing a cart and I stopped to help her. I was sure after that my back pain would return or that it would only last a little while. It never came back. Its been a couple of years now and every morning when I wake up I still think about the pain I was in but its just not there. Dr. Joel also helped me when I was highly stressed. After that treatment I slept like a baby that night and my entire body felt more at peace. What I recommend ritual acupuncture? Absolutely!

My first time experiencing acupuncture , in any form, and I found to be an interesting experience. Had decent success in alleviating my migraines and some stiffness in my shoulders and upper back. Would highly recommend Joel and his team for their friendly, calming atmosphere and demeanor.I would also recommend using an HSA or FSA to take advantage of their multi-visit packages. Ben is truly talented at restoring and healing the body! I went in for shoulder/neck pain that I had been experiencing for months from the beginning of this quarantine. In one hour, Ben isolated the affected area and managed to release and remove the toxins in my shoulder/neck. I am happy to report that the pain in the neck/shoulder has not returned.
